Short Term Accommondation

Short Term Accommondation

The Area

We are about 15 minutes by car from the airport and five minutes from the long golden sandy beach. Close enough to enjoy it, far enough to not be bothered by the clubs, traffic and “Greece by night”.

500meters from a big bakery with great coffee and all kinds of sweet and savoury treats you can wish for. Also 500 meters from a super market and a convenience store. There’s no restaurant in walking distance but there’s a pizza place and you can also have anything your heart desires delivered at the room-from sushi to souvlaki.

The house

You are about to rent a part of a family home in a quiet area (lest for the airplanes of course) run exclusively by the owner. The rooms are an independent part of the family house. You have to share the entrance, the staircase and the garden with the family- other than that your space is separate with its own private entrance, bathroom, free WiFi, ceiling fan, AC, a Queen size bed and a single bed in the one room and a double bed in the other. Both available rooms are on the 2nd floor WITHOUT a lift. Please, if you have mobility issues, be aware of it.

Pet friendly

We are happy to accommodate your pet but keep in mind that we also have two dogs in the premises that should be taken into consideration. Also, your pets CANNOT sleep on the beds for hygiene purposes and they must be housetrained and of a manageable size. You are, after all, only renting a room and NOT a whole house.

Eco friendly

We take the environment seriously so we have a solar heater, we recycle used water, we have installed ceiling fans for cooling and we suggest you preferably use them. We also have the latest technology of AC. We only use glass water bottles and no plastic cups. We don’t dispose of our linen and towels at the first sign of aging. Old towels are used for the bathroom floor, your feet and possible difficult stains like coffee, chocolate, make-up etc. Some of our linen and towels have been given a second life by eco-friendly, natural plant based dyes (ask for details if you are interested).

Thrifting-Upcycling

Our glasses are literally 100 years old as they were part of my grandmother’s dowery in 1936. Plates, cups and cutlery are thrifted and their age is unknown! So are most of our decorative pieces. Doilies and most lace is authentically antique and handmade, also from family doweries.

Art and the owner

Evita is an English teacher and a costume designer. An artistic personality, has designed everything in the space around you and all art is made by her: walls, ceilings, paintings, drawings, patchworks. Even all the sawing required. She loves hospitality in the true Greek spirit and is always available to help with anything as she lives next door and she is your “24/7  reception”.

Getting here

If you are arriving at the Athenian airport, please don’t trust the taxi drivers as they are – unfortunately-not the most reliable kind. If you can use Uber or Freenow you can try those, keeping in mind that in Greece, those Apps are also regular TAXIS with the same risk of scamming as any other.  The other most recommended way is by taxi we will send for you by appointment. It is NEVER more expensive than the random airport taxi and you are sure to avoid quarreling, scamming and unpleasant adventures or long detours for extra charges as they are long partners of ours with tested reliablility.

If you are willing to come by bus, there is the KTEL RAFINA-AIRPORT that leaves from the airport and stops 500 meters from the house at the stop GEGOS/AGIOS KOSMAS – See here.

If you are coming from the port of RAFINA the same KTEL RAFINA-AIRPORT will bring you here from the opposite direction.

If you are coming from the port of Pireaus, take the blue line for the KOROPI station (the cheap ticket NOT the expensive airport ticket. You will save about 8 euros per person). From there take a taxi for the house.  If you want to come completely by public transport, you can take the blue line to the station NOMISMATOKOPIO and then the bus 304 or 305 and get off at the stop called GEGOS/AGIOS KOSMAS. The same instructions will work if you are coming from Athens.
